For instance, if a PNG connection starts working on June 6, the consumer will have to complete the LPG surrender process by July 6.

The government introduced this rule to reduce duplication of fuel connections and improve LPG availability for households that still depend completely on cylinders for cooking needs.

After a PNG connection becomes operational, LPG cylinder refills will not be allowed from the same residential address.

Aim Behind The New LPG Policy

The main objective of this change is better management of LPG resources. In many urban areas, households have shifted to PNG because it provides a continuous gas supply through pipelines. However, some consumers continue to maintain their LPG connection even after switching to PNG.
