  2. Database Linkage – The vehicle registration number will be linked to a government database to verify ownership.
  3. Automatic Payment – The toll amount will be deducted from the linked bank account, mobile wallet, or UPI ID.

This system is already operational in several European and American countries and is now being implemented in India.

  • Your bank account or UPI ID must be linked to your vehicle registration number for smooth transactions.
  • If your number plate is outdated, consider getting an updated HSRP.

What If Your Account Has Insufficient Balance?

The government is expected to introduce specific rules for such cases:

  1. First-time insufficient balance – A notification will be sent to the owner.
  2. Repeated failure to pay – A warning will be issued, allowing time to add funds.
  3. Frequent non-payment – A fine may be imposed, and the vehicle could be blacklisted.
